Project Governance Manager
Primary Talent Partners has a 12 month contract opening for a Project Governance Manager to join a national energy and utilities company for an onsite position operating out of Jackson, MS. Pay: $76.00/hr - $86.00/hr
Contract:
12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Schedule:
Fully onsite | Onsite work-could change to a hybrid 3 days a week onsite schedule after training
Responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects that support business operations and organizational goals. This role manages timelines, resources, budgets, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects are completed successfully and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Governance & Reliability focus:
- Compile, maintain, and sequence governance presentations that roll up from operational reviews to executive leadership; ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across decks.
- Incorporate feedback from multiple layers of the organization and revise materials promptly.
- Coordinate with team leads to keep governance deliverables on schedule; track initiative milestones and flag gaps or sequencing conflicts.
- Administrative & Contract Management focus:
- Review and verify a high volume of contractor invoices for accuracy and compliance; manage and track purchase orders end to end.
- Conduct contract required quality/health/utility compliance checks; maintain project plans and schedules.
- Prepare concise PowerPoint summaries and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Common PM accountabilities
- Maintain disciplined version control; drive stakeholder alignment and clear communication across teams and leadership.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and schedule or sequencing conflicts early; initiate corrective actions.
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- 4-7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with Governance structure and producing formal Governance presentations for executive leadership
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; ability to synthesize complex operational content into clear, audience appropriate presentations.
- Strong attention to detail, version control, and professional stakeholder management.
- Experience developing and maintaining project plans; familiarity with invoice processing and PO workflows (for Administrative focus).
- Power BI (reporting/visualization familiarity or basics).
- Familiarity with utility/energy sector contracting and audit sensitive workflows; awareness of compliance practices (e.g., ESROC/NERC).
