Job SummaryAssist dental students in appropriate phases of their clinical and pre‑clinical education. Contributes to dental student education alongside faculty, participating in pre‑clinical and clinical courses.

Education & ExperienceGraduate of an Accredited American Dental Association (ADA) Dental Technology program and one (1) year of related experience or High School diploma/GED and three (3) years of related experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration RequiredN/A
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesServe as a novice technology expert in order to assist faculty and students.
Responsibilities- Fabricate crown and bridge work
- Fabricate occlusal splints
- Fabricate dentures from impression to insert
- Complete prosthetic repairs, relines, and re‑bases
- Assist students with setup of teeth, wax rims, final molds and fabrications in the lab. Provides these services as a lab technician.
- Show students how to engage implant abutments and fabricate surgical guide.
- Assist with dentures set ups and polishing.
- Collaborate with other technician educators to troubleshoot problems.
- Inspect equipment and request repairs or upgrades when necessary.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of laboratory exercises to be performed by dental students, residents and faculty.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the dental team to provide exceptional patient care.

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, frequent exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, frequent crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, constant reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and occasional walking.
