Job Description
The Disaster Program Delivery Specialist supports FEMA’s Disaster Program by collecting, coordinating, and reviewing applicant data, facilitating communications, assisting in claims processing, participating in FEMA meetings, conducting claims evaluations, and executing basic to moderately complex site inspections. The role requires U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a FEMA badge.
Responsibilities- Collect, coordinate, and review applicant data to determine eligibility and priority of assignments, including audits for completeness and review of Preliminary Damage Assessment information.
- Conduct exploratory calls to gather information from applicants and understand each applicant’s projects and recovery priorities.
- Support the communication process with applicants regarding status by scheduling regular meetings, tracking, and following up with FEMA requests.
- Coordinate transmittal of documents through FEMA’s Consolidated Resource Centers, schedule site inspections with applicants and Site Inspector Task Force Leader, and identify when technical expertise is required.
- Support the claims process by reviewing and validating damage details, scopes of work, and costs with the applicant; participate in regular FEMA meetings to provide updates on work status; evaluate claims and make recommendations to FEMA regarding eligibility.
- Assist with the development of Determination Memo and communicate final determinations to applicants during close out, conduct exit briefings.
- Perform basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage to assist in the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Domestic travel required.
- 5 years of in-field experience (2 years of in-field experience with a bachelor’s degree).
An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.

In addition, during employment individuals may be required by CDM Smith or a CDM Smith client to successfully complete additional background checks, including motor vehicle record as well as drug testing.
