The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology is accepting applications for its Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position.

Examples of Duties

* Serve as an effective teacher and mentor at the undergraduate and graduate levels by (1) employing innovative strategies to create active learning environments; (2) creating environments that foster collaboration and team building; and (3) actively participating in programming that supports the success of students (academically and professionally).

* Develop curriculum in the areas of cybersecurity or artificial intelligence.

* Establish and sustain an externally funded research program in the areas of cybersecurity or artificial intelligence.

* Provide service to the department, the college, the university, and profession.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

* Industry recognized certification.

* Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.

* Applicants at the assistant professor level must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate student education and success.

* Be an effective communicator.

* Be knowledgeable about effective pedagogical strategies.

* Be able to provide guidance, support and academic advice to undergraduate and graduate students.

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Strong analytical, observational and problem-solving skills.
