INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT, PRE-K

• Early Childhood Associate's Degree
• OR
• Associate's Degree or 60 college credit hours AND 12 early childhood college credit hours or Completion of an early childhood training program
• OR
• High School diploma/GED AND Verification of Workkeys Scores AND 12 early childhood college credit hours or Completion of an early childhood training program
• Demonstrate aptitude for work to be performed
• Show a desire and willingness to work with children

Building principal or designee. Under direct supervision of teacher.

To provide a program for pre-kindergarten children which is designed to promote development of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills of participating children.

• Works with students selected for participation in the pre-kindergarten project.
• Assists school staff in scheduling selected students for project activities.
• Follows a schedule of time periods with students each day as directed by supervising teacher.
• Works with students in small and large groups.
• Reinforces activities for a daily group from specific concepts designated and approved by teacher.
• Assists with the personalized instructional sessions of pupils to meet needs indicated by the Basic Skills Checklists.
• Implements planned activities for gross motor activities to be used to meet needs as designated by the Basic Skills Checklists.
• Assumes non-instructional duties assigned by the principal before and after the class day as current hours per day will allow.
• Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.

Salary: $14.00 per hour
