To provide a program for pre-kindergarten children which is designed to promote development of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills of participating children.
Essential Functions- Works with students selected for participation in the pre-kindergarten project.
- Assists school staff in scheduling selected students for project activities.
- Follows a schedule of time periods with students each day as directed by supervising teacher.
- Works with students in small and large groups.
- Reinforces activities for a daily group from specific concepts designated and approved by teacher.
- Assists with the personalized instructional sessions of pupils to meet needs indicated by the Basic Skills Checklists.
- Implements planned activities for gross motor activities to be used to meet needs as designated by the Basic Skills Checklists.
- Assumes non-instructional duties assigned by the principal before and after the class day as current hours per day will allow.
- Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
- Early Childhood Associate's Degree
- OR
1) Associate's Degree or 60 college credit hours AND 12 early childhood college credit hours or completion of an early childhood training program - OR
2) High School diploma/GED AND Verification of Work Keys Scores AND 12 early childhood college credit hours or completion of an early childhood training program - Demonstrates aptitude for work to be performed
- Shows desire and willingness to work with children
- Building principal or designee
- Under direct supervision of teacher
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
