Visiting Assistant Professor Of Theatre

The Department of Speech Communication and Theatre is accepting applications for its Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre.

• The successful candidate will be expected to continue to produce creative work while teaching a 12-credit hour course load per semester.

• Directing one mainstage production/musical per academic year.

• Courses may include, but are not limited to, the areas of theatre appreciation, acting, creative dramatics, survey of Black theatre.

• Mentor students and assist with their academic and creative projects.

• Provide supervision for departmental projects, which may require flexible hours.

• Attend faculty and departmental meetings.

• Engage in additional duties tailored to the candidate's strengths and departmental needs.

• Master's degree in theater or a related field required; MFA in Acting preferred.

• Professional performing and/or directing experience and prior university teaching experience preferred.

• Demonstrated college-level teaching experience in acting or related theatre courses.
