Position: Milam Elementary - Behavior Interventionist (Immediate Opening)

Behavior Interventionist

FLSA STATUS:
Non-Exempt

JOB GOAL:
To identify, access and implement academic and/or behavioral interventions for students whose behavior and/or achievement prevent or impede their personal academic success or the academic success of others. To work with school personnel to ensure students are successful in the general education classroom with limited support and intervention.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Observe individual students and classroom groups as requested by principal for the purpose of implementing interventions.
2. Implement all phases of individual or group interventions as assigned by the principal.
3. Complete progress monitoring and documenting of behavior changes and academic achievement.
4. Completion of records and forms as assigned by principal.
5. Communicate progress of students to intervention team chairman and students' classroom teachers.
6. Attend meetings as needed.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

The employee must be capable of moving and/or lifting up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee may be required to restrain students as may be needed to prevent injury to individual student or others.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
