Job Title:
Educator Effectiveness Representative
The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking to employ an individual to serve in the position of Customer Service Representative IV as the Educator Effectiveness Representative for the Office of Teaching and Leading within the Division of Educator Effectiveness.
The incumbent will support in advancing educator workforce effectiveness statewide through, high-quality observation, feedback, and professional learning, including direct support to users of the Mississippi Educator Career Continuum Archive (MECCA) PGS Portal.
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide technical support to the MECCA PGS Portal users by helping them navigate system features, troubleshoot issues, and understand growth focused workflows to support educator development, observation, and feedback.
- Maintain records of professional development participation and training activities, ensuring accurate documentation for districts, schools, and educators.
- Collaborate on new approaches, resources, and/or initiatives with the potential to increase teacher retention.
- Assist to plan focus groups, stakeholder meetings, and feedback sessions to gather input on the MECCA PGS Portal functionality, observation practices, and professional learning needs.
- Support with the development of leadership systems that allow great teachers to expand their reach through mentoring, coaching, conferences, and other leadership opportunities.
- Maintain a high level of detail-orientation, collaboration, and initiative under general guidelines while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines with accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
What you'll need to be successful:
Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred. The candidate must possess strong listening, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills. The candidate will support with coordination of efforts across districts, universities, MDE offices, and other education stakeholders, including assist with the development, organization, and maintenance of program materials and institutional knowledge products. The candidate must demonstrate a high level of initiative and confidence in supporting with the design, organization, and facilitation of training sessions and other engagement activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Typically requires High School Diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:
Experience as an educator or administrator with proven success in implementing the PGS is preferred.
