Overview

FUCHS Specialty Division seeks a Field Service Engineer to provide field‑based technical services that enhance customer performance and support Sales Engineers.

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Salary range: $105,000 - $120,000 per year, subject to qualifications and internal equity.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering and lubrication surveys to identify improvement opportunities and make lubricant consolidation recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineers to develop customer proposals that demonstrate measurable benefits based on actual operating conditions, including 5S implementation.
  • Support implementation and rollout of lubrication programs at customer sites.
  • Execute open gear inspections (OGIs) and reconditioning services, providing detailed reports with actionable maintenance recommendations.
  • Conduct detailed lubrication audits to assess customer compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and recommend actions to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Develop performance documentation and case studies that demonstrate the value and results delivered to customers.
  • Execute preventive maintenance activities including temperature measurements, vibration analysis, and oil analysis.
Travel
  • 60-80% national travel required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field;
    Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of field service or maintenance experience, preferably in specialty lubricants or related industries such as food, cement, or packaging; knowledge of lubrication technology, electrical equipment, industrial processes, and heavy machinery is a plus.
  • Condition monitoring experience preferred.
  • Ability to prepare clear, well‑structured technical reports for customer presentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer consulting capabilities.
  • Initiative, engagement, determination, persistence, ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • High level safety and health awareness.
  • Excellent attention to detail with high degree of follow‑through.
  • Ability to travel frequently on short notice.
