Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will have direct involvement with Manufacturing, Design and Operations with a focus on new product launch. The Technician will be involved in all phases of new product launch from producing prototypes to investigation of new processes and launching into mass production.

• Work with engineering and operators to produce prototype parts for engineering builds
• Work through multiple parallel path options for production methods (both internal processes and investigation of new processes)
• Work with outside vendors and project engineers for new equipment design
• Work with outside vendors and project engineers for testing, validating and qualifying external processes for production
• Provide technical training assistance to shift operators and Set-up Technicians
• Perform quality checks and testing on parts during prototype and engineering build phases, through use of measuring instruments provided
• Read and understand quality standards, control plans, and all pertinent documentation required to produce a quality part to specification
• Assist and support corrective action, cross-functional quality, downtime and scrap

• Technology related Associate Degree required
• 5+ years experience in various manufacturing processes
• Experience with new product launch required
• Ability to interpret part drawings, knowledge of part quality requirements, and computer systems required
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Well-developed and innovative problem-solving skills
• CAD experience is a strong plus
• Ability to work with minimal direction
• Experience preferred in the following manufacturing processes: automated & manual assembly, forging, stamping, machining, injection molding
