Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $/yr
My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to support their industrial operations with a focus on automation systems, motor controls, and capital projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, working with motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs), and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems across manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain industrial electrical control systems and components.
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
- Specify, install, and support AC/DC motors, VFDs, and soft starters.
- Lead or assist with installation and upgrades of electrical systems for equipment and facilities.
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective action for electrical equipment failures.
- Read and develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control diagrams.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and automation projects.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, and other applicable standards.
- Participate in plant-wide preventive maintenance and reliability programs.
- Assist in commissioning, start-up, and testing of new equipment or systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Strong knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, contractors, relays, and industrial wiring.
- Familiar with HMI systems, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with electrical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
