Drafter

Job Summary/Purpose

Perform various drafting and document management assignments working with AutoCAD version 2006 and above, Raster Design, Inventor, Electrical and Civil 3D Land Development Civil/Survey applications. Create and maintain Substation/System Protection (relaying) and Transmission Line project drawings, Substation Switching one‑lines, and Entergy System Maps in accordance with Transmission drafting and Document Management standards. Responsible for maintaining the drawing database using the Meridian Document Management toolkit.

• Draft engineering drawings for Substation, Relay and Transmission Line engineering design projects
• Oversee and enforce drafting standards for work performed by designers, consultants, and others
• Maintain and distribute one‑lines and maps
• Manage record asset drawings/documents in Meridian
• Support the AutoCAD suite of products (Raster Design, Inventor, Electrical, Civil 3D)
• Support computer hardware and plot/scan equipment; manage FOC requests and issue asset and station numbers for Substation assets
• Track and log assignments using SharePoint and Excel
• Manage project tasks in Primavera

• Previous drafting and AutoCAD experience
• Drafter I: 2–4 years of experience, or a 2‑year technical certification with 1 year of working experience
• Drafter II: 4–6 years of experience, or a 2‑year technical certification with 2 years of working experience
• Drafter III: 6–8 years of experience, or a 2‑year technical certification with 4 years of working experience
• Drafter Sr: 8+ years of experience, or a 2‑year technical certification with 6 years of working experience
• Preferred: 2‑year technical degree or certification in Computer‑Aided Drafting

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient AutoCAD skills with sound drafting techniques and concepts
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other personnel, departments, and organizations
• Computer proficiency; experience using technology tools
• Successful completion of the EEI TECH test (recommended)
• Selected candidates will be invited via e‑mail to take the EEI TECH test; monitor spam/junk folders

Successful completion of the EEI TECH test is required; the test is recommended for all candidates.
