The Auditor I serves as a first-level financial auditor within the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Division of Monitoring. The position involves conducting fiscal monitoring reviews of state-awarded subgrant agreements to ensure compliance with financial and programmatic requirements, preparing audit reports, and presenting findings to supervisors. The auditor reviews financial records, identifies compliance issues, and evaluates risks related to financial transactions.
Keyqualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for financial data analysis and report preparation
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing financial records and identifying discrepancies
- Effective communication skills for presenting audit findings and collaborating with stakeholders
- Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards, theory and practices
- Ability to work independently managing multiple monitoring assignments simultaneously
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or business (preferred with 5+ years fiscal monitoring experience)
