This position will be responsible for all phases of the procurement function for the Mississippi Library Commission in accordance with state and federal regulations. This includes creation and entry of purchasing documents (contract requests, contracts, purchase requests, purchase orders, and goods receipts) into the State of Mississippi accounting system (MAGIC) and sourcing equipment, supplies, and services utilizing requests for quotes, state contracts, and/or formal bid procedures.

Applicant should be self-directed and have the ability to work with other people, a strong attention to detail, and advanced analytical skills, including experience in Microsoft Excel and Word and Teams.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:

Preferred candidate will be a Certified Mississippi Purchasing Agent and have extensive experience utilizing the SRM and ECC purchasing and contracting functions in the State of Mississippi accounting system (MAGIC).
