Grant Accounting Manager – Preventive Medicine (Grant Funded)
Perform payroll accounting and financial service functions for grants and other sponsored program funds, and submit grant proposals to federal and non‑federal sponsors. The position provides fiscal service and support to all Department of Medicine investigators for the submission and financial management of grants.
Job SummaryPerform payroll accounting and financial service functions for grants and other sponsored program funds, as well as submit grant proposals to federal and non‑federal sponsors. These functions include completing budget revisions and projections, analyzing run rate for expenditure, maintaining accurate effort reporting/certification, reviewing/monitoring of individual grants and transactions for compliance with private, local, state and federal policies and regulations, and financial grant reporting for granting authorities.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field plus two (2) years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Responsibilities- Complete payroll accounting adjustments to ensure accurate payroll expenditure according to run rate.
- Submit grant proposals to federal and non‑federal sponsors.
- Make budget revisions/projections for grants corresponding with run rate.
- Review and monitor individual grants and transactions for compliance.
- Provide financial grant reporting to granting authorities.
- Maintain accurate effort reporting/certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers to answer questions, convey information, and resolve accounting issues.
- Compile reports, supporting documentation, and analysis as needed to assist management.
Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold; occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals; occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours; occasional traveling to offsite locations; occasional activities subject to significant volume changes;
frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality; occasional bending, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, crouching/stooping, driving, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
