The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled.

A background in finance or accounting and compliance with federal and state law/regulations is required. Experience managing a financial team in either a state agency or healthcare setting would be beneficial to the candidate.

• Ability to promote trust-based, collaborative team efforts and governance across all aspects of the financial enterprise.
• Ability to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative programs and oversee development of program improvements.
• Ability to analyze complex fiscal and operational data.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to the program and policies of the Medicaid agency.
• Ability to interact with and negotiate with other state officials, legislative officials and advocacy groups.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

7+ years of experience in management of a complex financial organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skillsCPA or CGFM is considered beneficial but not required MS state agency management or healthcare financial management is considered beneficial but not required
