The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged, and the disabled.

This position is located in the Long-Term Care Department Central Office. This Benefit Program Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the Assisted Living (AL) Waiver program to ensure global compliance with waiver requirements, Federal regulations, and Medicaid Administrative code, and quality care for beneficiaries. Is responsible for the direction and supervision of professional staff (licensed social workers) who perform case management services for the AL waiver.

Directs provider education and monitoring processes of all AL Waiver providers. Processes timely review and approval of provider applications. Monitors contracts.

This position requires knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements for 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers.

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree, 4-6 years of experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Agency Prefers:
  Experience in providing and/or overseeing the provision of services to elderly and/or disabled persons is beneficial. Because this position supervises social workers who provide case management in Assisted Living facilities, managerial experience is preferred, and experience as a social worker or case manager is beneficial.
