About the Agency

The Mississippi State Department of Health’s mission is to protect and advance the health, well‑being, and safety of everyone in Mississippi.

This position supports the Ryan White Part B Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) program at the Mississippi State Department of Health as the Social Services Team Lead (SSTL). The Ryan White Part B Ending the HIV Epidemic (RWEHE) program is dedicated to providing critical services to Persons with HIV (PWH) in an effort to end the HIV epidemic by 2030. Mississippi is one of seven states implementing the EHE initiative in collaboration with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

The Social Services Team Lead plays a key role in managing cases, coordinating care, and ensuring that PWH receive necessary services to achieve viral suppression. The SSTL will be responsible for providing both medical and non‑medical case management to facilitate linkage to care, re‑engagement, and retention for PWH. This includes supervising and collaborating with other care team members to ensure patients receive comprehensive services.

What

you’ll need to be Successful

Proficiency in using computer hardware and basic software, including Microsoft Office and email. Applicant must be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Experience or interest in HIV care and treatment, along with community engagement is preferred. Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to quickly learn new concepts and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 2‑4 years of experience. Appointing authority may require a master’s degree and/or social worker’s license. Agency
