Manager of Advancement Information Systems Job Summary
The Manager of Advancement Information Systems is responsible for overseeing Advancement specific technology and data that support the college’s fundraising, alumni and parent relations, and donor stewardship efforts. This role is housed within the Institutional Advancement department and functions as the department’s primary technical expert and operational systems lead, while working closely with our Information Technology department to manage platforms, data strategy, and system improvements.
Key duties include overseeing and maintaining the constituent relationship management (CRM) database and other information systems, ensuring data integrity and security, developing enhancement plans, and leading projects to improve fundraising effectiveness and operational efficiency. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Development Operations.
This is a full-time position that works on-site in Jackson, MS with regular office hours from 8:00am – 4:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Evening and weekend work is occasionally required to support major events and initiatives.
Job Duties- Develop and implement short- and long-term strategy for continuously improving Advancement systems and data capabilities, aligned with Advancement’s fundraising and alumni programming goals and the college’s institutional goals for data collection, data management, and information sharing.
- Establish and oversee Institutional Advancement’s data governance framework, including data standards, documentation, and system‑wide practices.
- Develop and implement plans for data maintenance, integrity, security, and optimization of Advancement CRM/database, supplemental systems, programs and reporting tools for effective and efficient support of all advancement initiatives. (Colleague, WEBI, Give Campus, etc.)
- Proactively identify, recommend and implement processes and workflows to increase data management effectiveness and efficiencies, aligning with industry best practices to fully utilize the organizational and technological capabilities of the Advancement database.
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend and implement system enhancements that increase efficiency in gift entry, prospect management, event tracking, and stewardship
- Implement integrations between the CRM and related systems (email marketing platforms, online giving portals, digital engagement tools, financial systems).
- Establish and document Advancement specific policies and procedures for the timely, efficient, and accurate collection, entry, and maintenance of constituent and gift data.
- Work with Advancement and campus-wide colleagues to understand reporting needs and data points. Create reports and dashboards, and provide analysis to support fundraising and stewardship efforts.
- Develop and implement standard practices for entering and updating data, to ensure ongoing consistency and data integrity. Create user guides and SOPs to be used for team training and reference.
- Monitor Advancement data integrations with other systems and facilitate timely transfer of data from one system/platform to another.
- Work with the AVP and IT staff to oversee ongoing Advancement technology projects from conception to completion, managing resources and ensuring projects are prioritized and delivered in a timely manner.
- Work with the AVP, IT staff, and external consultants to plan and implement conversion to a new CRM.
- Effectively supervise the Data and Information Systems Specialist, set annual and long-term goals, provide training, and ensure they are productively and efficiently working to meet Institutional Advancement goals.
- Provide systems onboarding training for new hires and facilitate training for staff as systems and reports change.
- Act as the primary systems liaison between the advancement office and IT as well as with external vendors.
- Serve on the data governance committees as an Advancement representative, and on other committees as needed.

- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required.…
