NW Deployment Build Lead , Infra - GND

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Deployment Build Lead to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

• Build out first level router‑aggregates and the console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects.
• Capacities scaling support of several data center locations and day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management.
• Leverage experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise‑class networks and network implementation and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Scaling Leadership and Technical Program Managers.
• Manage work priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing, connectivity issues, including device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
• Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
• Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Move and lift computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Up to 60% travel within geographical work area; some travel outside traditional area may be requested, including internationally.

• Providing the first level networking devices to serve customer racks (efficiency focus): track network rack intake and delivery, work with onsite teams to request rack space, power, and cooling, and partner with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready. Work on link and device troubleshooting within SLA.
• Console builds (and room builds) to expand space and capacity for customer racks.
• Work with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.

• 1+ year professional experience in computer networking.
• 1+ year experience with Linux operating systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 lbs.

• Can work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking, staging, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).

The base salary range for this position is 27.00 - 48.00 USD hourly. The Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
