NW Deployment Build Lead I, NW Deployment

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Deployment Build Lead to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. The role focuses on driving the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks, scaling capacity across several data center locations, and supporting day‑to‑day capacity management.
Key Responsibilities- Build first‑level router‑aggregates and construct console networks for new rooms.
- Support network scaling projects and manage day‑to‑day capacity management tasks.
- Leverage experience in large‑scale, enterprise‑grade networks, including implementation and troubleshooting.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles and troubleshoot network, routing, and interconnectivity issues.
- Assist with cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and cords.
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
- Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Move and lift computer equipment up to 50 lbs; work in cramped spaces or elevated locations as required.
- Travel up to 60% within geographical work area, with possible international travel.
The role includes:
1) Providing first‑level networking devices for customer racks, managing rack intake and configuration;
2) Building console and room networks, collaborating with teams for capacity expansion;
3) Working with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with computer networking and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Can work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
