Azure Solutions Architect and Administrator

Serve as the primary architect for Azure cloud initiatives including migration of enterprise systems such as the SPAHRS payroll system currently operating on zLinux mainframes.

Responsibilities:

• Design Azure IaaS and PaaS environments
• Establish cloud strategy and governance
• Lead on-prem to Azure migrations
• Automate provisioning and configuration
• Manage lifecycle tasks
• Ensure security and compliance
• Support hybrid environments
• Integrate container workloads
• Provide guidance on Windows, Linux and legacy migrations
• Transfer knowledge to state staff

Mandatory Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (CS, IT or related)
• 5+ years Azure solutions architecture
• 5+ years cloud migration experience
• 5+ years Dev Ops engineering
• 5+ years cloud security / compliance experience
• 5+ years network administration
• Documentation and knowledge transfer experience
• Strong communication skills

  Windows Server 2019 / 2022 / 2025 – Advanced (Required)
• Linux (zLinux, Red Hat, SUSE) – Advanced (Preferred)
• Tools:
  Power Shell – Advanced (Preferred)
• Azure Dev Ops – Advanced (Required)
• Framework:
  Azure Architecture – Advanced (Required)
• Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
• Preferred:
  Mainframe administration, zLinux, Ubuntu / Red Hat / SUSE, AI / Machine Learning, Application monitoring
