Hiring Lab Data Engineers build and maintain the data pipelines, infrastructure, and production systems that transform Indeed’s proprietary data into reliable research-grade datasets and public data products used to monitor labor market conditions around the world. The Data Engineer role collaborates closely with data scientists, economists, editors, and product managers across various functions to ensure that Indeed’s proprietary data can be processed, validated, and delivered as the metrics, visualizations, and analyses that are published externally.
Responsibilities- Designing and implementing reliable, scalable, and efficient data pipelines (ETLs) to integrate data from a variety of sources into Indeed’s data lake
- Designing, implementing, and optimizing data model changes that align with warehouse standards and support evolving business needs
- Improving the performance, reliability, and maintainability of data pipelines and data infrastructure
- Providing documentation, technical guidance, training, and consulting for data warehouse users
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience

SQL, and SQL databases - Expertise in workflow orchestration and pipeline tools such as Airflow
- Experience designing scalable data models and optimizing large-scale data processing workflows
- Experience improving data quality, reliability, and performance through automation and engineering best practices
