This Opportunity is for a Procurement Supervisor with a work location in Jackson, MS.
Procurement Supervise the full procurement cycle, guaranteeing adherence to agency, state and federal guidelines and procedures from the requisition stage to the receipt of goods or service, engage in contract negotiations with suppliers to obtain favorable conditions, including cost, delivery timelines, and the quality of goods or services, develop and implement procurement strategies aimed at cost reduction and efficiency improvement, including supplier consolidation and bulk purchasing, Oversee the selection procedure, performing comprehensive evaluations to ensure dependability, quality, and financial solidity, Collaborate with internal departments to anticipate the demand for goods and services, ensuring procurement is timely and meets operational requirements, establish and uphold a procurement management system or software to simplify procurement processes and improve data transparency and reporting, address disputes with suppliers and/or agency employees concerning contract delivery problems, product quality, or contract adherence, ensuring minimal disruption to the organization, carry out regular audits of procurement policies and procedures, proposing modifications or updates to align with industry-leading practices and regulatory mandates, and Authorize requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment in MAGIC
This opportunity is a position within MS Department of Child Protection Services in the Finance Department. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi's at-risk children and families. MDCPS offers a variety of positions statewide, including social work positions providing case management services and working with potential foster families, supervisor positions providing clinical and administrative support, and agency support positions such as policy development, human resources, information technology, program management, training, and budgeting/finance.
