Jacobs is seeking a Water Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our water treatment plant (WTP) facility located in
Jackson, MS
. You'll perform a variety of tasks in the preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and power generation equipment associated with the water treatment plants and related facilities equipment. You'll oversee day to day maintenance, repairs, new installations, and improvement projects associated with WTP. In this role, you'll be directly responsible for the asset management plan and contractual deliverables pertaining to facility maintenance and standards as well as the maintenance and department performance for the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, scheduling, and directing the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of specialized mechanical equipment, buildings, structures, and grounds.
  • Assists project manager in department budgeting and estimating cost and time for all aspects of repairs or replacements.
  • May perform duties of other department supervisors in their absence if required, including approving work assignments, scheduling shifts, preparing work schedule and other duties assigned.
  • Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and mechanical illustrations. Reviews drawings and equipment specifications as required for client improvement projects.
  • Performs skilled mechanical repair work on water treatment plant equipment and related equipment.
  • Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and to prevent recurrences. Prepare detailed reports and proposals required to facilitate the duties of a maintenance supervisor.
  • Provides on-the-job training to staff and provides direction as required to facilitate repairs when needed.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical machinery or equipment as needed.
  • Is proficient in the repair, maintenance and fabrication methods required of a supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required.

As an essential function of the position and as a business necessity, this role requires regular travel by motor vehicle to client sites, project locations, and other work-related destinations in connection with the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Accordingly, a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position.

  • Experience with general business management practices
  • Experience with CMMS and the general practices and methods used to manage a large industrial system.
  • Knowledge of computer software includes but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and to enter data into a computerized maintenance management system.
