The 401 Water Quality Certification Branch Manager oversees all water quality certification permitting and compliance activities for the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. The role manages staff, coordinates project reviews with federal and state partners, and ensures compliance with state and federal water quality requirements. This is a full-time position located in Hinds County, Mississippi, reporting to the Department of Environmental Quality.
Key qualifications- Bachelor's Degree and valid Professional Engineer certificate from Mississippi State Board of Registration
- 6+ years of engineering experience
- Strong technical judgment for evaluating project impacts and mitigation proposals
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with multiple agency partners
- Staff supervision and branch operations management experience
- Professional judgment on complex, time-sensitive regulatory decisions
