Program Manager (Division Administrator)
As a Program Manager (Division Administrator), you will:
- Communicating organizational goals, objectives, and priorities, and how organizational performance is defined and measured.
- Provides leadership for the division for motor carrier compliance and enforcement programs such as PRISM, CDL, hazardous materials, MCSAP, ITS/CVO etc. Ensures programs are carried out in accordance with national policies in order to reduce transportation related fatalities. The incumbent provides policy guidance and assures uniform interpretation and application of the regulations and policies for motor carrier and hazardous materials transportation.
- Meets with high-ranking State and local officials, industry representatives, technical and professional associations, citizens groups, news media, and other Federal agencies to negotiate solutions to controversial issues which may have significant effects on businesses or state/local laws or regulations. Has the authority to make decisions and commit significant Administration resources.
- Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates and appraises staff performance.
The ideal candidate is a mission focused Program Manager for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Division office, the incumbent provides leadership in developing and administering a multifaceted transportation safety program through a multi-level staff and represents the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in dealings with Federal and State government and local business officials on transportation safety and commercial program issues.
