JOB DESCRIPTION

Mississippi Forward PAC is hiring Regional Organizing Directors to support the implementation of a direct voter contact program to be executed by a statewide field team in support of the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, Scott Colom. Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) will manage a team of field organizers who will plan, evaluate, and facilitate community events and coordinate with relevant partners to run an effective and efficient program.

About Scott Colom:

Scott Colom is a seventh-generation Mississippian from Columbus, a husband and father of two, and a district attorney. Colom is running for Senate to lower costs, protect Mississippi hospitals, bring good jobs home, and work with anyone who will help put Mississippi first. Guided by his Christian faith, he has worked to keep communities safe, hold corrupt government officials accountable and support the jobs and opportunities that help prevent crime.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of field organizers who will recruit volunteers and execute direct voter contact outreach
  • Develop regional strategies and systems that lead teams to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics and maintain data integrity
  • Support efforts to recruit, train, motivate, supervise, and retain a consistent volunteer base, exercising independent judgment in determining volunteer assignments, priorities, training needs, and engagement strategies to implement the field plan and achieve voter-contact goals. Develop, plan, and manage direct voter contact events such as canvasses, phone banks, and GOTV, and independently determine appropriate staffing, timelines, volunteer deployment, and operational priorities
  • Provide the Organizing Director with daily updates, analysis, and recommendations on relevant direct voter contact and voter engagement events
  • Use Vote builder to evaluate and cut direct voter contact lists, conduct volunteer recruitment, track and analyze volunteer engagement and ensure timely and accurate data entry
  • Maintain, evaluate, and update metrics tracker on a daily basis
  • Determine literature needs and distribution priorities, monitor inventory, and coordinate distribution to supporters and partner organizations Exercise independent judgment and discretion in prioritizing work, allocating resources, resolving routine operational issues, and adapting field activities to meet program objectives
  • Other duties as assigned by the ROD, along with other duties assigned by PAC leadership

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-2 cycles of campaign experience managing staff and recruiting volunteers is required
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • A keen eye for detail and maintaining a high level of professional standards
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commit throughout the duration of the program
