Role Description

The Power & Utilities Manufacturing Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site role. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes for power and utility products such as transformer cabinets, bus duct, and substation support structures. Day‑to‑day tasks include designing and improving production workflows, creating process documentation, and collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to ensure products meet specifications, safety standards, and cost targets.

The Manufacturing Engineer will analyze production data, troubleshoot issues on the shop floor, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, and support scaling of U.S. manufacturing. The role also includes coordinating with suppliers, supporting equipment selection and maintenance planning, and contributing to new product introductions for power and utility customers.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering, with the ability to design, improve, and standardize production processes in a fabrication environment.
  • Applied experience in Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Processes, including metal fabrication, assembly, and design‑for‑manufacturability for power and utility products.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Machining and related shop‑floor practices, with the ability to partner effectively with operators and supervisors to resolve production issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • Experience in power, utilities, electrical equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing is preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and basic production metrics (throughput, yield, OEE, scrap).
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused production environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
