Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift. Core hours: 3:30pm to 12:00am. Hourly rate: $28.27 + $1.00 shift differential per hour.
Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You’ll DoThis position is based in our Jackson, MS facility. We offer a $2,500 sign‑on bonus.
- Rotate through each lean cell function and rotate through other lean cells.
- Perform visual and physical inspection of parts using functional measuring equipment.
- Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) to detect out-of-control conditions and use problem‑solving methodologies to ensure product quality.
- Interpret and work from complex drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Set up and operate distinct types of machines and finishing equipment (lathes, mills, drills; CNC & Manual, grinders, CNC grinders, laps, hones) without assistance and maintain proper tolerances.
- Be responsible for returning all tools to their proper location at the end of the shift and cleaning work area.
- Perform sub‑assembly operations such as installation of pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, and miscellaneous components.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Machining certificate or Associate’s degree in a technical field, or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in machining.
- CNC experience with lathes, mills, grinders, manual hone, or lap.

- Ability to read and understand G & M code.
- Prior work experience using hone, lap, and grind equipment.
- Five years of precision machining experience.
This position is classified as a safety‑sensitive role under DOT and FAA regulations. Candidates must successfully complete a DOT‑required pre‑employment drug test, and ongoing random testing will be required during employment.
