Job Summary

Parts Handler responsible for day‑to‑day activities in a production yard or warehouse, ensuring parts are handled safely, efficiently, and properly. The role may be directed by the Production/Yard Leader to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Job Duties
  • Safely maneuver around the yard or warehouse.
  • Find / retrieve parts.
  • Package parts for delivery or prep.
  • Handle paperwork involved with parts.
  • Pull work orders.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to remove parts from cars.
  • Operate a powered industrial truck (forklift) or order picker.
  • Pull and prep sheet metal and other orders.
  • Tag all parts properly for destination.
  • Communicate with Sales and Dispatch.
  • Maintain a positive and friendly attitude and appropriate behavior during work hours.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs; sometimes up to 100 lbs.
  • Exposure to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment.
  • Work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles requiring awkward positions.
  • May regularly wear PPE and be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
  • Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Requirements
  • A working knowledge of automotive parts.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide with whole numbers, common fractions, decimals.
  • Compute rates, ratios, percentages; read and interpret graphs.
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics software.
  • Basic oral communication; ability to write brief messages and keep simple records.
  • Explain and offer guidance on routine procedures.
  • Problem‑solving within routine processes.
  • Decision making primarily affects own job or assigned functional area.
  • Prioritize routine tasks; work closely with supervisor for guidance.
