Purpose of RoleThe Hot Works Operator is responsible for filling in for any operators in the following positions, Air Arc, Weld Repair, and/or Overlay welder. The Hot Works Operator is responsible for identifying and correcting casting defects utilizing the MIG welding process, including arcing of fins, contact notches, and any other irregularities on castings. The Hot Works Operator will also operate manual and/or robotic welding equipment and perform other department tasks including 6S.
Key Responsibilities- Grasp an Arc rod holder
- Operate manual and robotic welding equipment
- Pick up parts that weigh up to 1500 lbs with the use of a hoist
- Stand for an average of 10 hours per day
- Demonstrate 100 % commitment to zero harm behaviors to support a world‑class safety culture
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous MIG welding, air arc, casting repair and/or robotic welding experience
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical documents
- Use of back, shoulders, hands and wrists for an extended period of time
