Logistics Specialist,
Location:
Stennis Space Center, MS 39529. Industry: Aerospace / Manufacturing. Salary: $24/hr employment Type:
Contract through December 2026;
Potential to Extend or Convert. Schedules: A Shift: Monday‑Friday, 6AM to 4:30PM; B Shift: Monday‑Friday, 3PM‑1:30AM; C Shift: Friday‑Sunday 6AM‑6:30PM; D Shift: Friday‑Sunday 6PM‑6AM.
- Continuous improvement: evaluate, monitor, and address roadblocks that can cause downstream defects. Support root‑cause analysis and provide problem‑solving details.
- Proper use of equipment: operate heavy machinery (PIT equipment, forklifts, electronic pallet jacks, reach‑trucks, turret‑trucks) safely and maintain equipment.
- Receive shipments: unload deliveries and visually inspect packages according to SOP, performing quality‑control checks on parts.
- Document receipts: upload, store, and close out receipts or work orders using tools and SOP.
- Data entry: navigate inventory‑management tools, input data from physical deliveries, and read module information as needed.
- Packaging: identify appropriate packaging, wrap, and store parts at all stages of fulfillment and manufacturing.
- Sorting and staging: move and secure packages, boxes, crates, and container types, maintaining workflow integrity.
- Labeling and marking: ensure all parts are labeled and identified in accordance with SOP.
- Storage assignment/auditing: store parts per SOP, audit per SOP, and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of Fulfillment Center Operations experience in receiving and inventory functions. Previous certified forklift experience. Ability to lift 50lbs.
Ability to derive inventory requirements from Bills of Material. Experience in aerospace or automotive industry desired.
