The Foundation for the Mid South is seeking a Communications Associate to support internal and external communications that advance our mission and strategic priorities across the Mid South.
This role supports storytelling, digital content, campaigns, and communications operations, helping translate strategy into clear, engaging messaging across platforms.
What You'll Do
- Draft and edit content for newsletters, email campaigns, website updates, blog posts, and print materials
- Support storytelling aligned with organizational initiatives and impact
- Assist with routine website updates and content maintenance
- Support social media scheduling, copywriting, basic graphics, and performance summaries
- Draft press releases, announcements, and communications materials for review
- Assist with communications reporting and board-related materials, as directed
- Support event and campaign communications, including promotions and recaps
- Maintain content calendars, trackers, and communications archives
What We're Looking For
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Experience supporting communications plans or campaigns
- Comfort managing multiple deadlines in a collaborative environment
- Familiarity with digital tools such as Canva, CMS platforms, email tools, and social media
- Interest in mission-driven, community-centered work
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, or digital content development
- Nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred
- Salary range: $38,500 – $55,000, commensurate with experience
