Edwards Baptist Church is a small Southern Baptist Church in Edwards, Mississippi. We are seeking a Full Time Pastor to lead us as we try to reach the lost and unchurched for Jesus Christ.

The Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the church, responsible for preaching and teaching the Word of God, shepherding the congregation, equipping members for ministry, and leading the church in fulfilling the Great Commission. The Pastor will model a Christ-centered life, uphold Southern Baptist doctrine, and provide biblical leadership in accordance with the church’s mission, vision, and values.

Preaching & Teaching:

• Prepare and deliver biblically sound sermons each week.
• Teach Scripture faithfully through regular Bible studies, discipleship, and counseling.
• Equip the church to apply biblical truths to daily living.

Pastoral Care:

• Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and encouragement to members.
• Visit the sick, bereaved, and homebound members as needed.
• Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other church ordinances.

Leadership & Administration:

• Provide spiritual oversight and leadership to staff, deacons, and ministry leaders.
• Work with church leadership to set vision, goals, and strategies for ministry.
• Oversee church services, programs, and community outreach.
• Ensure adherence to the church constitution, bylaws, and Baptist Faith and Message (2000).

Evangelism & Outreach:

• Lead the church in personal and corporate evangelism.
• Promote missions locally, nationally, and globally in line with SBC priorities.
• Encourage and mobilize the congregation to share the Gospel.

Personal Growth & Example:

• Maintain a consistent prayer life and devotion to God’s Word.
• Live above reproach as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Demonstrate integrity, humility, and servant leadership.

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
• Ordination as a Southern Baptist minister.
• Seminary degree (preferred but not always required).
• Strong communication, leadership, and pastoral care skills.
• Proven experience in preaching, teaching, and shepherding a congregation.

This is a full-time position with responsibilities that include Sunday worship services, midweek services, pastoral care, meetings, and other church-related duties as required.
