Director of Nursing – Psychiatric Residential Treatment
A long‑standing, mission‑driven nonprofit residential treatment program in Jackson, MS is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead nursing operations for its Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, providing trauma‑informed care to children and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs.
As Director of Nursing, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all nursing services while ensuring exceptional clinical care, regulatory compliance, and staff development. You will lead a multidisciplinary nursing team and partner with medical, psychiatric, and clinical leaders to deliver safe, trauma‑informed, evidence‑based care.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all nursing operations for an 80‑bed PRTF
- Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff across a 24/7 operation
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, Medicaid, and accreditation standards
- Oversee medication management, infection control, quality improvement, and risk management
- Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and payroll
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatric providers, and interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and regulatory readiness
- Active Mississippi Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN required
- Minimum 5‑7 years of progressive nursing experience
- At least 3 years of leadership experience
- Experience in pediatric, behavioral health, psychiatric, or residential treatment settings strongly preferred
