general description

the rn unit manager, under the direction of the director of nursing, is responsible for maintaining standards of nursing care and practices for up to 60 residents, meeting their physical, psychosocial, and rehabilitation needs. The rn unit manager also manages lpns and cnas, coordinates care, performs assessments and adheres to documentation guidelines.

responsibilities and duties
  • knowledge of age‑specific developmental factors for adult and geriatric residents (physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning delivery of care.
  • knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs: alzheimer’s, dementia, dialysis, iv therapy, infectious diseases, wound care, and all applicable disease processes.
  • provides nursing care in accordance with resident care policies and procedures and ensures safety and well‑being of residents.
  • makes daily rounds for all areas of nursing care under supervision, visits each resident to evaluate physical and emotional condition, receives comments relating to resident needs and problems, and implements necessary nursing interventions.
  • qualifications
    • registered nurse with a current ms license, with no restrictions.
    • long‑term care (ltc) experience.
    • computer skills.
    • excellent documentation skills.
