Job Summary

Provide leadership and management to all nursing, personnel, and ancillary staff within the assigned area or units in a clinical setting. Manage clinical functions, ensuring efficient, effective patient care delivery and compliance with administrative, regulatory, and clinical policies.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in nursing and five (5) years of RN experience, two (2) of those years in a leadership role. Preferable clinical experience in the area to be supervised/managed.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration

Valid RN license.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct operations and delivery of patient care within budgetary, staffing and regulatory guidelines, using evidence‑based practice.
  • Ensure that personnel demonstrate quality standards of customer satisfaction and patient care.
  • Coach, educate, consult, train, and evaluate nursing and ancillary personnel.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize the work to ensure proper assignment distribution and efficient utilization of clinical personnel, space, and facilities.
  • Participate in planning, preparing and prioritizing of budgets for assigned areas.
  • Monitor compliance, investigate variances and provide remediation plans.
  • Assure compliance with productivity standards for assigned areas/units.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities to enhance delivery of clinical care.
  • Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force or project team to improve patient care or work area.
  • Demonstrate core standards of exceptional customer service.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environments such as high noise, heat and cold, hazardous equipment, biohazardous conditions, radiation exposure, blood‑borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, as well as occasional working hours beyond regular schedule, travel to off‑site locations, seasonal volume changes, precise quantitative measures of quality, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, and driving.
