Overview
RN Inpatient – Children’s of Mississippi – Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit, 2 Circle.
Location:
Main Campus, Jackson.
- Provide nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatments and interventions for patients in an assigned clinical area.
- Coordinate the operations of the clinical area, including patient scheduling, maintaining patient records, and managing the patient admissions process.
- Counsel patients and their families on treatment and conditions of patients.
- Act as liaison between case managers, home health nurses, utilization review, and related teams; coordinate patient services and care.
- Perform duties in accordance with the medical center’s purpose; this role may require call as requested by the department.
- Maintain patient safety and accurate records; participate in nursing councils, committees, or projects to improve patient care or work area.
- Fulfill preceptor duties in accordance with UMMC guidelines where applicable.
- Education & Experience:
Knowledge of clinical nursing care procedures and protocols; strong verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills; familiarity with computer systems and programs; ability to work in a team environment. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Valid RN license.

Occasional exposure to high-noise environments, extreme temperatures, and potentially dangerous equipment; exposure to biohazards; long or irregular hours; and activities requiring significant physical effort (lifting and carrying >100 pounds, climbing, crawling, bending, standing, walking).
