Job SummaryPlans and coordinates community engagement and educational initiatives that increase awareness, understanding, and participation in clinical research. Serves as a liaison between research teams and community partners to build trust, promote research opportunities, and support equitable participation in clinical studies. Builds and maintains institutional internal and external relationships related to research initiatives and UMMC research core. Delivers and facilitates multidisciplinary community engagement functions, programs, and activities that advance the research mission.
Education& Experience Education And Experience Required
Degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) and one (1) year of research, clinical, or event planning work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of community engagement, health education, and clinical research principles. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, research teams, and stakeholders. Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously. Ability to analyze and summarize program data and prepare reports.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and virtual meeting platforms. Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to fostering inclusive community engagement. Ability to work independently.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements community engagement and educational events that promote awareness of clinical research opportunities.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to expand research outreach.
- Represents the organization at community events, health fairs, workshops, and public meetings to educate audiences about clinical research.
- Collaborates with investigators and research staff to support participant recruitment and community engagement strategies for research studies.
- Develops and distributes educational and promotional materials related to clinical research and research participation.
- Tracks outreach activities, participation metrics, and program outcomes, and prepares reports for leadership and funding agencies as needed.
- Assists with the development and implementation of community engagement plans that support organizational research priorities and health equity initiatives.
- Guides patients in connecting with resources to improve access to health services and research participation.
- Coordinates daily operations and evaluates financial data to ensure research is conducted in a cost-efficient and fiscally responsible manner.
