The Territory Manager in the Mississippi‑Jackson area will lead through influence, build profitable agency relationships and drive top‑line performance.
- Understand the strategic and operational goals of the assigned territory and individual distribution partners to identify mutually beneficial solutions, leveraging data, analytics, local market information and competitor knowledge.
- Proactively identify and implement actions to achieve territory goals.
- Lead new business and transfer processes, including identification of new transfer and new business appointments, set expectations for results, manage commitments and ensure delivery of new or transferred business production.
- Leverage tools and resources available to increase operational efficiency (e.g., Salesforce, Seismic, dashboards and reporting).
- Gather distribution partner feedback and share continuous‑improvement opportunities with business partners across the company.
- Collaborate with personal‑lines and farm‑geography partners and other Nationwide counterparts (claims, servicing, etc.) on problem solving, education, promotion, reviewing sales practices and providing input.
- Complete the annual planning process for appropriate distribution partners, document agreements in Salesforce, and hold partners accountable to agreements.
- Partner with Product, Marketing and other business partners to identify and act on opportunities within the territory.
- Lead portfolio‑management meetings with the appropriate distribution partners to ensure alignment with the goals of the territory; monitor portfolio data and analysis to drive profitability and revenue through assigned relationships, focusing on both top‑line and bottom‑line growth.
- Live within the assigned territory; frequent travel required.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: Undergraduate studies in general business, insurance, sales, marketing or related fields; degree preferred.
- Experience: Typically eight to ten years of sales or sales‑management experience; prior property‑casualty or financial‑services experience desirable; carrier‑side sales management experience and a combination of carrier and agency‑side experience is especially ideal.

Reporting RelationshipsReports to Sales Associate Vice President or Vice President; individual contributor role.
Job ConditionsFrequent travel with potential for overnight stays. Requires regular, in‑person engagement with agency partners within the assigned territory to maintain a level of field presence and support profitable growth. A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required. Overtime eligibility: exempt (not eligible).
