• The Protective Security Officer will protect federal property and employees from theft, damage, hazards, or interference. They will make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. They will preserve order and enforce regulations pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Control access to client facility through the admission process. Assist visitors with a legitimate need to gain entry to the facility. Screen visitors and client employees in an efficient manner to expedite entry.
• Monitor entrances and exits; prevent unapproved or unlawful entry; control movements of people and vehicles, and parking; operate a gate and examine vehicle contents; monitor remote entrances using CCTV; operate remote access devices; direct people who cause disturbances to leave the property.
• Patrol the assigned site on foot.
• Protect evidence or the scene of incidents; set up barriers and signage; provide direction or information to others.
• Prepare logs or reports as required for post.
• Respond to incidents such as fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents following established procedures.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned post.

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable federal, state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.

Must be able to speak, read, and write using coherent English language.

Must be 21 years old

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Have two years of security guard experience or DD214 equivalent
