Position Overview
Security Services Associate – responsible for unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol of interior and exterior properties, controlling access, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, composing reports, deterring criminal activity, and performing other duties as specified by post orders.
Job Responsibilities- Safeguard facilities and conduct patrols of organization property, reporting any property damage or risk to the Security Services Supervisor.
- Escort visitors as necessary and check Day School students in/out daily.
- Sign clients in/out for passes with assistance from nursing and designated staff.
- Observe and assist in client care, maintaining an accurate log of security activities.
- Communicate effectively with visitors and staff, responding promptly to all alarm calls and coordinating with emergency services.
- Demonstrate understanding of program operations, policies, and procedures through attendance at orientation and ongoing training.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Canopy campus‑based programs and the organization’s Code of Conduct.
- Use computer literacy skills (Windows, Word, Outlook) and complete forms and required reports accurately.
- Operate telephone, radio, copy machines, computers, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Coordinate with campus‑based management staff and employees to meet security needs and account for temporary badges.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- At least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Valid and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and pass background checks, drug screening, and required training.
- Good physical fitness to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and respond to emergencies.
- Pass State licensing test if required to drive company vehicles.
- Provide DD‑214 discharge document if applicable.
- Operate radio or telephone equipment and console monitors.
- Demonstrate courteous communication with the public.
- Perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 pounds); facilitate therapeutic holds of youth as needed.
- Assist with emergencies and maintain situational awareness in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Maintain visual, auditory, and spatial awareness; adapt to moderate‑to‑loud noise levels.
