To keep equipment operating so that there is no interruption in the daily schedule of student transportation.

Supervisor of Vehicle Maintenance

• Performs regular maintenance jobs involving a variety of skilled duties including using a computer laptop, Pro Lin Scan Tool, PC, hydro brake system, rebuilding engines and A.C. compression service.
• Does engine repairs such as tune-ups, overhauls, and general maintenance.
• Performs major and minor motor repair and replacement work on trucks and other equipment.
• Works on air brake systems.
• Replaces valves and seats grinding.
• Brazes and welds metals as needed.
• Installs rings and bearings and effects proper adjustments.
• Overhauls and repairs carburetors and clutches.
• Tunes motors using standard testing equipment, cleans and replaces spark plugs, and installs radiator hoses.
• Repairs transmissions, differentials, front and rear axle assemblies.
• Takes down, repairs, and reassembles air compressors, pumps, and related equipment.
• Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.

• Physically and mentally competent to perform manual labor tasks.
• Knowledge and experience to do engine tune-ups, complete engine overhauls, general mechanics, and other related duties.
• Knowledge of bus diesel engines such as 8.2, 7.3, Cummins engine, and 3116 Cat engine.
• A combination of education and experience in skilled mechanics and repair of equipment.
• Valid Mississippi Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes.
• Must be insurable by district insurance carrier.
• Applicant must submit to and pass drug screening test as outlined by district policy.
