Essential

Job Duties
  • Paint walls, equipment, buildings, bridges, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
  • Remove old paint to prepare surfaces prior to painting.
  • Mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Strong background in all phases of painting.
  • Pass asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed.
  • Proficient in tape & float, sand, texture, use of joint compounds, quick set.
  • Expertise in painting with brushes (cut‑in) and rollers.
  • Layout and placement of floor tile, cove base.
  • Knowledge of latex, oil‑based and epoxy paints.
  • Stain and lacquer doors and cabinets.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain the required NASA badge.
  • Effective communication of the English language, both verbally and written.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations.
Working Conditions
  • Lift minimum of 30‑pound load from the ground frequently.
  • Walk six hours per day.
  • Bend and stoop six hours per day.
  • Work overhead with minimum 20‑pound load.
  • Push and pull frequently throughout the day.
