About the RoleThe Apprentice Diesel Technician is an entry-level role focused on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician.
You’ll gain hands‑on experience working on heavy‑duty trucks while learning directly from experienced technicians. This role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician position within 1–2 years.
Responsibilities Maintenance & Repairs- Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses).
- Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs.
- Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators).
- Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians.
- Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Accurately document work performed.
- 0–2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply).
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
This is a hands‑on shop role that includes:
- Working with heavy equipment and mechanical systems.
- Frequent standing, lifting 50+ pounds, and physical activity.
- Exposure to noise, heat, and shop conditions.
