Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and guide junior technicians.
- Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical or mechanical control devices in a safe and timely manner that exceeds customer expectations.
- Execute repair work on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment—including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
- Conduct preventative maintenance by diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operational deficiencies.
- Process job tickets and work orders, ensuring timely communication with the necessary departments.
- Provide training to new or less‑qualified technicians as needed.
- Maintain accurate truck inventory and operate company vehicles safely.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, with equivalent work experience or trade/technical school coursework.
- Must have passed Tech Skills level 4 with an 80% or better score.
- Valid EPA certificate required.
- 3–5 years of experience in construction HVAC, refrigeration, or a related industry.
- Experience with chillers and troubleshooting electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, refrigeration piping, and computer‑controlled systems.
- Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing blueprints.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.
- Strong communication, presentation skills, and excellent customer service orientation.
- Understanding of and ability to follow company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Proficiency with common business tools, including e‑mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
This role typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service venues, and construction environments. It requires work at heights using ladders or scissor lifts, exposure to elevated noise levels in mechanical rooms, extreme cold from refrigeration systems, and high heat from brazing operations. Workers are expected to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions, including walking, standing, driving, sitting, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, using hands and fingers, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must use appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work practices.
