Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Shift - Tuesday - Saturday

Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment; diagnose, adjust, and repair a variety of truck equipment; manage parts inventory; maintain and operate a company service vehicle; document work using company systems; work independently managing own schedule and prioritizing tasks; comply with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations.

Duties
  • Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
  • Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and other truck equipment.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems using handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify problems, use judgment to generate and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Maintain and operate company service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
  • Work with clients to assess needs and resolve issues.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
  • Document work and upload pictures of repairs on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT application.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation.
  • Manage own daily schedule with independence.
  • Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.
  • Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with management for repair estimates, purchase orders, and RO findings.
  • Work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company safety policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent).
  • Possess a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • Must successfully complete DOT pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
