Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
Shift - Tuesday - Saturday
Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment; diagnose, adjust, and repair a variety of truck equipment; manage parts inventory; maintain and operate a company service vehicle; document work using company systems; work independently managing own schedule and prioritizing tasks; comply with safety, health, environmental policies and federal regulations.
Duties- Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
- Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and other truck equipment.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems using handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
- Identify problems, use judgment to generate and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Independently manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company service vehicle, conduct safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Work with clients to assess needs and resolve issues.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work and upload pictures of repairs on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation.
- Manage own daily schedule with independence.
- Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
- Communicate with management for repair estimates, purchase orders, and RO findings.
- Work in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company safety policies.
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or equivalent).
- Possess a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
- Must successfully complete DOT pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
