Social Service Supervisor – Wellbeing and Permanency

Location:

Bolivar County, Mississippi.

Salary: $58,934.39 - $71,208.86 Annually.

Full‑time.

Social Service Supervisor (Frontline) in the Wellbeing and Permanency Unit. Responsibilities include supervising and supporting case management activities that promote child safety, permanency, and wellbeing. Duties include conducting safety and risk assessments, identifying safety concerns, ensuring safety plans are developed, implemented, and monitored, gathering demographic information, ensuring diligent search efforts, maintaining visit frequency and quality, identifying physical, educational, and mental/behavioral health needs, coordinating with internal and external supports, coordinating with local youth court, ensuring foster care placements and living arrangements are stable, achieving timely permanency in accordance with the Adoption and Safe Families Act, maintaining sibling placements when possible, supporting child connections to community, faith, extended family, tribe, school, and friends, documenting case management activities, preparing professional court reports, providing recommendations in court proceedings, participating in ongoing learning and professional development, and handling work‑related travel and after‑hours on‑call duty.

A valid driver’s license and automobile insurance are required.

Preferred qualifications
  • Typically a bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, psychology, educational psychology, sociology, nursing, criminal justice, counseling, marriage and family therapy, family studies, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in child welfare.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.

    Master’s degree and/or social worker’s license preferred.
